The textureboard is easy to use. Follow these steps to add increadible effects quickly and easily to your marker rendering. The textureboard can produce the effect of either a reflected surface texture or a shadowed texture simply by your selection of colour overlay.
How to apply texture to your images:
1. Position the board underneath your sketched image. Ensure that the texture to be transferred to the image is facing up.

2. Use a quality water-colour pencil of reasonable hardness. Select a light colour such as white for reflected textures or a dark colour such as black for shadowed textures.
3. Hold the pencil lead in a low horizontal position (as flat as possible).

4. Consider where the light source is coming from.
5. Rub the pencil over the paper and apply pencil weight according to the light source.
Hint:
For reflected surfaces apply heavier pressure towards and less away from the light source.
For shadowed surfaces apply heavier pressure away from and less towards the light source.
6. By varying the level of pressure, images look more graphic and realistic.
